Gallagher's Fun Friday Tip: PUPPY BOWL!

While it would be impossible to beat the whopping 111.3 million people who watched the Superbowl last year, it is worth noting that almost 10 million viewers tuned into the Puppy Bowl.  What is the Puppy Bowl? The self-proclaimed "biggest event on all fours" is an Animal Planet show that features adorable puppies on a scaled down football field where accidents are "fouls," hamsters fly above in blimps, the kittens throw a half-time show and the cheerleaders are hedgehogs.

The Puppy Bowl was "originally created as a refuge for animal lovers bored with Super Bowl pregame shows" but has since become quite a hit in its own right. The show provides more than just entertainment, it also has an underlying social responsibility - to promote the adoption of animals from shelters. The Puppy Bowl puppies are from shelters and all the animals featured are available for adoption.

Some die hard UW fans at Gallagher might feel predisposed to rooting for Aurora, a Husky mix.
It is likely our Documents and Reference Librarian, Peggy is rooting for Sally, a Dachshund/Basset Hound mix.
The Puppy Bowl is airing at 3 p.m. EST on Animal Planet. Check out the rest of the lineup here, predict a winner and have a fantastic weekend!
