An oral history of retired Justice (and former UW Law professor) Charles Z. Smith was one of the first compiled by the Washington State Legacy Project. The project, established in 2008, is part of the Secretary of State’s Office. It will publish online “oral histories and biographies of instrumental people who've shaped our history. Governors, statewide elected officials, Supreme Court justices, members of Congress, and other influential people recount defining moments in a collection of memoirs that depicts the story of Washington.”
Oral histories of journalist Adele Ferguson and Nirvana bassist (and political activist) Krist Novoselic round out the first release. Look for an oral history of Judge Carolyn Dimmick in March.
